  • PA State Police to Patrol for Aggressive & Drunken Drivers
    The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and the PA Department of Transportation (PennDOT) are reminding motorists that troopers will be watching for speeders and aggressive drivers, as well as those driving drunk over the 3-day 2008 Fourth of July holiday weekend. They will also be enforcing the State’s seat belt laws and Steer Clear law, according to the PSP.   (07/03/08)

  • Email Hoax Warns of Stolen License Plate for Gas Thefts
    “Don’t become part of an email hoax” is the message being disseminated by the Pennsylvania State Police. An email circulating in Pennsylvania falsely warns of license plates stolen from vehicles for the purpose of stealing gas.   (06/27/08)

  • Lane Painting Season Arrives
    Warm weather means you are likely to encounter the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) annual line painting operation. The Department applies a fresh coat of reflective paint to lines that provide direction, delineation, and guidance to motorists.   (06/27/08)

  • PA Auto Thefts Decline
    More than 52,000 vehicles were stolen in 1994, prompting the Pennsylvania Legislature to create the Auto Theft Prevention Authority. Last year, less than 26,000 vehicles were stolen, representing a 51 percent drop since the legislation was first enacted, according to the PA Office of Attorney General and the PA State Police. By comparison, auto theft dropped nationally only 23 percent from 1994 through 2006.   (06/13/08)
