  • Property Tax & Rent Rebate Deadline Extended
    Pennsylvania senior citizens and residents with disabilities eligible to submit a claim form for a rebate on property taxes or rent paid in 2007 are being notified that the deadline to apply has been extended until the end of the year. The extension beyond the previous June 30, 2008 deadline will allow for additional eligible Pennsylvanians to qualify for a rebate through the state’s expanded Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, according to the PA Departments of Revenue and of Aging.   (06/05/08)

  • State Aging Plan Meetings Continue
    The Pennsylvania Department of Aging will conduct three additional town meetings during March to gather input for the state’s next four-year Plan on Aging. The resulting state- and federally-mandated plan will guide the state’s aging agenda from October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2012.   (02/28/08)

  • PA Seeking Input for State’s Aging Plan
    During the next three months, the Pennsylvania Department of Aging will conduct seven town meetings to gather input for the state’s next four-year Plan on Aging.     Property taxes and rent are among two of the biggest expenses for most Pennsylvania families. But there is assistance available for qualifying senior citizens to recoup some of this expense through the Commonwealth’s Property Tax and Rent Rebate program.
